The performances by Moranis, Martin and Cusak are absolutely wonderful. They bounce off one another so well and it’s comedically spectacular. This is absolutely one of my favorite comedy movies.

  • The Harvey Girls

    The Harvey Girls

It’s so wonderfully charming and such a good time. I smile wide every time I watch it. Judy Garland is wonderful as always, but I think Virginia O’Brien is my favorite. When she’s in the blacksmiths shop singing her song and shoeing the horses it’s pretty awesome.
My absolute favorite scene is when Judy Garland walks into the saloon with the two pistols and holds them up for the steaks they stole. It’s really fantastic.

    Favorite Line:
    I was born…

  • Gladiator

The scenery is utterly majestic, scaling the hills of Spain and panning over the coliseum and Rome it is shot so beautifully I can’t express how beautiful it all is.
I think my absolute favorite part of the character development in this film is the leadership qualities in Maximus and how he is capable of so much in such a short time. Winning over his men in all he does is absolutely inspiring and mesmerizing.

  • Cape Fear

    Cape Fear

Robert DeNiro is absolutely insane in his role as Max Cady, an ex-con with a personal vendetta against the defense attorney that got him put away for 14 years. DeNiro is absolutely terrifying in this role and it fits him really well.
I always find it really interesting when you tell a story where you like the antagonist a little more than the protagonist. I really disliked Nick Nolte’s character, not in the same way that I disliked DeNiro but it really shows the audience that the world isn’t always black and white.

  • Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

    Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

This is high quality entertainment! Alan Tudyk is definitely one of my favorite actors and he is really hilarious in this. When a group of college students mistake two vacationing hillbillies for murderers, what could possibly go wrong? The misshaped and chaos that ensues is hilarious and cringe worthy in all of the right ways.

  • Raging Bull

    Raging Bull

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This is definitely not my favorite Scorsese film, but I think I can understand how it could be someone’s. Jake’s flaws are portrayed exquisitely by DeNiro and watching his decent into obscurity especially as the film drew to a close was extremely powerful, espescially since from the beginning he wanted to do everything on his own and that is exactly how he ended up.
I think my favorite scene though had to be when Jake through the fight at Joey’s…

Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse

Eleanor Coppola does an amazing job care loving her husband’s experience making Apocalypse Now and how all of those thing s effected her as well.
I’m t was also really interesting to learn about all of the things that went wrong and the changes that has to be made, it definitely would have been totally different if some of the original ideas had stayed through the entire filming process.

  • Apocalypse Now

    Apocalypse Now

It was a beautiful film, it was definitely a roller coaster of emotions and chaos. Martin Sheen is utterly splendid and The ensemble on the boat are really great and they bounce off one another really well.

My only real issue I had with the film was the end, Everything about Martin Sheen’s performance was great but I found Marlon Brando’s time on screen a little trying and I wasn’t the biggest fan of Dennis Hopper’s character either. On the whole I think the film works wonderfully but those particular performances made the end rather irksome.

  • Dangerous Liaisons

    Dangerous Liaisons

The exuberance in this film is above anything I think I may have ever seen. From the beginning the audience is placed in a world full of lavish gowns and pure luxury. The embroidery of John Malkovich’s outfits and Glenn Close’s gowns were utterly sensational and caught the attention of the audience immediately.
Glenn Close is sensational in this film she is quite the master of playing this deceitful and manipulative character and it is a pure joy to watch…

  • Rebecca

I couldn’t finish it. It had none of the charm that I think the original had and Arnie Hammer’s Maxim had very little mystery to him that didn’t seem completely forced. He didn’t seem eaten away by guilt and loathing the way I think he should be. It definitely is not for me.

  • Heart and Souls

    Heart and Souls

I completely adore this film, every time I here Walk Like a Man by the Four Seasons I think of this movie. It makes me cry and it makes me laugh, every time, without fail. Robert Downy Jr. is sensational he plays his respective guardian angels so well it really showcases how sensational of an actor he is. When Penny takes over at the BB King concert is one of my absolute favorite scenes.

  • Rebecca

The twists and turns in the plot of this film are utterly masterful. Laurence Olivier is exceptional and at every corner he infuriates me with his secrecy and yet I still love him. Hitchcock does a great job with this film and one thing that I was really taken with is the score. The light and airy music that follows the couple progressively gets darker and more menacing as the film progresses and it really makes the film that much more sensational.
