After Hours

After Hours ★★★★

One of Marty’s most interesting films aesthetically, along with Bringing Out the Dead which is evidently also about exploring the “city that never sleeps” as a motif. However this is also one of Marty’s more fun films, bringing out more humour from him which is always a treat. Undoubtedly a major influence, and a primer of sorts, to the Safdie brothers & other young filmmakers who find an affinity for capturing the nightlife of New York.
