I was not a huge fan of the original, nor the book for that matter, so there's nothing they could do to really disappoint me. But this was just a toothless, basic cable style movie, rather than a film released by one of the last remaining major studios. It's too fast, too silly and the wholesale changes from the book add nothing to the story so why disappoint the actual fanbase for this. Either way, more and more, Blumhouse is looking suspect rather than exciting when their title card pops up in front of a horror film.

One more time before seeing MAVERICK on the 24th...the agreed upon first time. A time I'm sticking to as planned by the group, like a gentleman. As opposed to slinking off to a press screening, like a total asshole, six days earlier!

More entertaining than just about anything I've seen on the subject. Though a majority of that is due to Sudeikis' heavy-lifting.

4K betrays a lot of the makeup and in cases, dialogue, where they couldn't clearly see the actor speaking in the distance while syncing audio. But the transfer looked great and fun to revisit after what had to be 25+ years.

And people wonder why I hate musical theater and Netflix is losing subscribers...I give you Exhibit A.

Though if you want to laugh and be in awe of a horribly misguided attempt at art, you could do worse.
