The Last House on the Left

Cheap. Exploitive. Dirty. Scary. Parts of this feel like a real life documentary or a snuff film other parts feel like your worst nightmare or a psychosis episode. The Last House On The Left has such a mean spirited and unrelenting gang of villains doing these vile acts followed by shots of the beautiful foliage, running streams, and the sun beaming through the trees it’s such an unsettling balance that scratches some very very uncomfortable itch in my brain probably…

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Tom McLaughlin walked in and delivered the best Friday flick of all time. I love hearing all the good set stories that come from this flick and it really seeped into the movie. All the psycho sequels are good. Olivia Hussey is great as Norma Bates and I really love Anthony Perkins continuity between all the entries. Henry Thomas really nails all the proper Norman Bates mannerisms and attributes he was 100% the right choice for young Norman. Not as good as 2-3 but still pretty damn good.

the zeitgeist of fear that cloaked the 20th century is well covered in this documentary with plenty of shoutouts to mainstream commentaries and deep cuts of the genre.

    The Burning

Got my hands on the 4K collectors edition today and I’m so happy with the picture and audio quality in this new restoration easily the best the film has ever looked. The Burning is one of my favorite 80’s slashers and one of those movie that came out in the wake of Friday The 13th that i actually think is better than that movie. All the campers have some personality likable or not but I certainly felt bad for most…
