"We have Judas in our midst!"
The fantastic Frank Darabont takes on yet another Stephen King based story after Shawshank, and The Green Mile. He more than proves that yet again, he's the man for the job.
So, a change in genre for (a pre Walking Dead) Darabont , and he certainly knows how to ratchet up the tension. Whether it's the unseen beasties lurking in the mist, or the darkness lurking within the warring group thrown together in extreme circumstances, it works a treat.
The always reliable Thomas Jane makes a great lead, and the whole thing has a distinct feeling of being a bit of a throwback to the 80's (in a good way).
This is film notable for the ending. It's most definitely a talking point (and a friend who I recommended it to accused me of ruining his evening!), but it worked for me. You may not want to view it again anytime soon after, but you certainly wont forget it.
