Nature has cunning ways of finding our weakest spot.
this is gonna sound weird - love's a bitch. but it's the most pure, the most beautiful bitch around. it's so mysterious. one moment it's there and you feel like you're in heaven, and the next moment, it's gone. and you feel extreme pain. sometimes it's there and you don't even know it. shit this movie makes me sound like some sort of love guru. I cried in the toilet for ten minutes after watching this. you know those movies that make you wanna just sit alone in a quiet room (ergo, the toilet) and just, think? yeah I'm a sucker for those kind of movies. thought provoking and shit. I hope elio never kills the sorrow. I hope elio never kills the joy he felt. and man, I just hope that one day, all the parents of the world are like elio's father. the dialogue in that scene where he talks to his elio was just so perfect. every child deserves a parent like mr. perlman.
and in the words of our lord, our saviour, sufjan stevens, blessed be the mystery of love.
