I'm fully prepared to be the only one out there liking this latest attempt at a Munsters reboot, but it was fun and aggressively cheesy and baroque...just like the original series. It also still manages to do its own thing on top of that, which is what I'm looking for in a reboot. All I really would change is tightening up the second half of the film, because I feel like it loses steam after a certain point and sort of just...ends.
While I wish Ana Lily Amirpour would make another film closer to her debut, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, this is definitely a step in a better direction than her last effort, The Bad Batch. It's also a whole lot of fun, even though I wanted more of both Jeon Jong-seo and Ed Skrein.
