Man, oh man, what an unexpected banger of an episode to end series 6 on.
I dock Demon 79 some points because it felt like a retread of the Crocodile episode at times (Right down to the frequent murder weapon of choice being a hammer), but Anjana Vasan is a star and Paapa Essiedu is fabulous as our disco demon. I can not wait for what the next series of Black Mirror has in store.
For some reason, I had it in my head that this film had gotten a really negative reception, especially on the heels of David Robert Mitchell's previous film It Follows. I live for character study films, and I love the speech Natalie Portman gives at the school about enjoying playing morally dubious characters. I feel like it, along with the final Portman/Moore scene at the graduation cermony and Moore/Melton bed scene, are the cruxes of the film.
Anyways, give Portman, Moore and Melton all the awards already.
