This was very intense to watch. It is absurd but also terrifying and tragic. The characters in this film are complex and deeply layered. Each of them put on a performance in their lives whether it’s to hide trauma, pain, or secrets. It also highlights the dangers of how film and performance itself can intensify and compound pain in the lives of real people. Portman, Moore, and Melton all give incredible performances. This is a fascinating film with many layers and subtext. Not a comfortable watch, but certainly thought-provoking.

Not quite as strong as the first two Kung Fu Panda movies. It delves maybe a just a little too much in the silliness but it still packs a good amount of heart and stellar action.

Promising Young Woman 2020
Promising Young Woman completely blew away my expectations. Carey Mulligan gives an outstanding performance; hope she at least gets some recognition for it. Just when it thought I knew where this was going it completely goes in a different direction. Excellent writing, framing, and soundtrack. The ending left me speechless. It might not be agreeable with everyone but it will definitely get people talking.

There are some great additions like Donnie Yen,…
