An excellent conclusion to the Daniel Craig era. I can’t imagine this would hold up terribly well on its own, but if you’ve seen the previous Craig bonds there’s some stuff that’s gonna hit hard in this. Otherwise I’d assume this would drag HARD in its mid section. For me, I was invested. Not quite sure that’s what I want Bond to be moving forward (I think I’d prefer the old episodic / mission based films of the pasts structure)…

Sorta like Stephen King meets Babadook but not good.

If you weren’t already talking (screaming) about Julia Ducournau then now is the TIME!!!! I am hysterically laughing about how bad this movie needs to be seen. When you say Gasper Noe, Lars Von Trier, and Darren Aronofsky are our premiere modern provocateur directors you better be shortly following it with Julia’s name. Beyond the visceral shock value is heart and incredible performances alongside a multitude of layers in its themes I’m still peeling through in my mind. If you can stomach it, this is a must see.

A bit of a mess. All a bond film needs to do is create a memorable and wild villain, an interesting reason for bond to go after them, and make it a fun and thrilling ride along the way. Whoooooooo is asking for there to be some meta-narrative or a buncha business drama with MI6?? Christoph Waltz is incredible but is criminally under-served with the script he’s working with.
