Don't hurt my boys, they good boys.

Sometimes movies feel like they're made for you. I am definitely not saying I'm currently depressed or anything like that - I mean that this is raw emotion from creative, depressed, overthinking, underachieving millenial boys. It's funny that it's sad and it's sad that it's funny. Unfiltered and unrestrained, this doesn't seem packaged for everyone. It does really feel like a fist bump from guys like you through the screen. It isn't a…

I saw this very young, so it feels like a staple to me. This definitely gets cornier everytime I watch it again, but it's still in an endearing way - like a Tales From The Crypt episode with the same campiness, theatrical over-acting, comic book dialogue, justice porn and taboo topics, except this is a Wes Craven picture so it's even better! The camerawork is so damn good, especially for its time. The tracking shots, dollies and pans (I may…

The most collected character in cinema history. A guy so smooth he's probably never even gotten his shirt stuck on a door handle. If this makes me a filmbro then so be it because I'm in love with Drive and everything about it. The 1st 15/20 minutes are sooo stupid good.

I think Whiplash is possibly the greatest movie of all time, so I really really like the tense music movies. This would probably be pretty slow/dull for non-musicians but it would still be enjoyable. The story isn't anything new but it's done well enough and it's engaging from beginning to end (again, I'm a musician so even the practice scenes had me dialed in). I loved the girls and the ending made this just wild enough to stick with me…

This is a thinker. I feel like I need to sleep on this to really digest it, but I also don't think I could dive in and break it all down without another watch.

Beautifully shot in a dream like world and a hypnotic choir carries out throughout most of the film. It's a fairy tale but never like I've seen before. The editing was actually pretty awful to begin, but it calms down and the stretched out scenes suck…

    Terminator 2: Judgment Day

There's never been another movie like this one. Perfect blend of sci-fi and action, the right kind of comedy sprinkled in, and a time travel plot that doesn't go off the rails. I know in later movies it does, but those feel separate to me. Even the 1st film just feels like a prologue to this one.

In my top 5 greatest action flicks for sure.
