No matter how much I wanted to love this movie it just didn't do it for me. It was sufficiently weird but way too focused on explaining the whole "Christianity vs. Pagan" thing.. could've done without with the constant preaching and whining.
I would have appreciated more Christopher Lee and spooky animal masks. Songs were bad!

The Birds was my first Hitchcock movie; my parents put it on for me after a weekend touring the California coastline. It was never entirely scary, but there's something special about seeing a film with such familiar locations.
Nice to see this holds up and remains one of my favorite Hitchcock's after all these years. It's incredible how a scene showcasing a woman going upstairs can be so tense when you know the monster at the end is "just" a bird.

I wasn't as impressed by the song and dance numbers as a lot of people seem to be, but the way this merges in screwball comedy is very well done. Major props to the screenwriters for the excellent one liners and the Depression commentary weaved throughout.
