Matt’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is such a richly drawn and deeply idiosyncratic musical that really operates on its own wavelength. If you stick with it you’ll be rewarded by some really affecting and magical payoffs. Adam Driver’s performance here is one of hos best. Sparks’ musical style is unique and I’m really glad they had a chance to have an entire film made off it. The direction is nice n smooth n weird. And again, I’ll stress this all leads to some truly powerful and original utterly cinematic moments. I do think it’s definitely a film you find more upon rewatching it.
