Wyatt’s review published on Letterboxd:
This would finally be my first surprise of 2016 because honestly, I could not stop laughing throughout this movie. Who knew Gosling and Crowe as a detective duo would work out so well. Gosling as a misshapen detective from his own predisposition for drinking, smoking, and falling matched perfectly with the macho Crowe who possesses a soft spot when it comes to Gosling's daughter in the film. It was this character trifecta which made the movie for me.
The movie had some jokes which fell flat and maybe could have used a final round of edits to flesh out some character discrepancies; nonetheless, the funniest movie of the year thus far and one of the most entertaining in months!
