    Mostly noteworthy to see how Micheaux was experimenting with sound for the first time - particularly in the many (admittedly rough) dialogue exchanges, which are allowed to run for much longer than in silents/pictures with intertitles. As a film, it’s all over the place. As an artifact, it’s fascinating. Need to check out “Body and Soul” next.
