  • Soul

Gorgeously animated with a very complex narrative about the meanings of life. It’s one of the most ambitious Pixar films since Up. The voice acting is very great with Jamie Foxx being surprisingly great. It’s such a beautiful looking film as well with a great use of 3D animation, & 2D animation.

    It’s fine.

  • A Christmas Story

    A Christmas Story

From the Director of Black Christmas & Porky’s, comes one of the most beloved Christmas films of all time.

Man, what a wild ride this film has been on. First it was a flop, then it was discovered on VHS, then it aired on TBS and became a cult classic. And I remember watching it on VHS Around Christmas time BEFORE the 24hr marathons. It is Undoubtedly one my favorite Christmas movies ever (butting heads with Home Alone). This film portrays…

  • The Polar Express

    The Polar Express

Seeing this movie in the theatre with my kindergarten class mates was one of the most magical school memories that I can remember. This movie is now 16 years old, holy shit. I’ve always enjoyed this film. But the two most important aspects for me are the atmosphere and the music. Alan Silvestri’s score is beautiful and boosts this film to a whole other level. Considering this film’s age, the cgi isn’t nearly as people bad make it out to…

  • The Godfather: Part III

    The Godfather: Part III

This is a review of the ‘Coda’ cut.

This is why films are made in editing. This cut is MUCH better than the theatrical cut. In my initial review, I stated that the theatrical cut of Part III felt like a great film stuck within an ‘good’ film. This cut reorganized itself and trim a lot of fat from the original cut. Also the new intro and ending do a lot to improve the structure. The bigger problems of the…

  • Home Alone 3

    Home Alone 3

    A bad drama is awkward.
A bad genre film can be hilarious.
But a bad comedy is just misery.

  • Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Revenge of the Sith ends the prequels on the highest not that could possibly be imagined. The performances are mostly solid despite some laughable moments, the story is much better throughout and paced that Attack of the Clones & The Phantom Menace. Some of the effects by ILM are still incredible to look at all of these years later, but what stands out the most in this film is the music. Some of the music within the prequel trilogy is some of the best work John Williams has ever produced, and this film is no exception. Williams work elevates this film to an entire other level.

  • Star Wars

    Star Wars

What else can I say about STAR WARS? It’s pretty phenomenal.

  • Return of the Jedi

    Return of the Jedi

This is my favorite Star Wars Film despite all of its flaws. To me, this film has one of the most thoroughly gratifying trilogy finales put to screen. It’s emotional beats hit so hard that to me, it puts it over Empire.
