Re-watched on Amazon Prime
Every time I think that Stahelski and his crew have managed to achieve what is humanly possible with action cinema, they somehow, somehow manage to blow me away even more. Parabellum, more than anything else this franchise has done so far, acts as the point where the franchise goes from being just an already spellbinding set of action films into something truly transcendent and mythological even in the pantheon of its bedfellows. The first half-hour in on itself is the best action ever put onto screen but even so the rest of it manages to vary from being almost to just as ecstatic. Why some find this the weakest of these is mind-boggling, they have always felt like a stairway to staggering heights not seen before and most certainly since.
And apparently the fourth one is the best of the bunch. That’s going to be an out-of-body experience to watch, isn’t it?
