Reeves’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is definitely one of the weakest Tobe Hooper movies I’ve seen—maybe even weaker than his Masters of Horror episodes; however, it’s been a minute since I’ve seen those, so maybe not. If you’re willing to suspend your belief, The Toolbox Murders is an entertaining enough horror movie in that early-00s style (I guess). Some of the plot holes though, and I get that this is a supernatural horror movie that requires some imagination, really take away from the enjoyment. It gets downright stupid and silly at points. The ending credits are also in the shittiest font I think I’ve ever seen in a movie. Possibly worse than comic sans or papyrus.
