Drew W.’s review published on Letterboxd:
I have nothing against movies like Hereditary or The VVitch, but it’s sooooo refreshing to see a big-budget, giallo-like campfest in 2021, a time when most mainstream horror tries in some way to mimic the former.
Malignant is a delight from start to finish — it’s punchy, violent and bedazzled with camera tricks and color usage that’d make Argento proud. Annabelle Wallis is brilliant, and I’d love to see her continue down the horror path following this production.
Wow, Mr. Wan, great moves! Keep it up! Proud of you!
