The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse ★★★★★

I had left my local theater with sweaty palms and my mouth wide open. "What did I just watch?" I told myself.

Robert Eggers' "The Lighthouse" has been my most anticipated movie of the year as it was a film with two phenomenal actors starring in it and a just as tremendous of a director coming off of his breakthrough film "The VVitch" What I had left with, was more than satisfaction and expectations that were blown out of the rocky island.

I liked this film for being one that is open to interpretation. After doing a little research, I found that in a Q&A that Eggers intended for "The Lighthouse" to have a bunch of open-ends that end up having the viewer fill it in with their own thoughts of how it should be. These kinds of films are the ones I come back to the most for finding something to break down and come up with my own ideas for it.

This is one of those movies where I find myself having trouble coming up with things I disliked about it. I found it to be just that good.

I could go on about what all I enjoyed about the film but that would take me too long to get all of my points across so I will leave you with this: GO SEE THE MOVIE.

Highly recommend.
