Crash ★★★★★

Not necessarily his best, but really feels like the movie Cronenberg was born to make, the most elemental expression of his eternal fascination with bodies and detatched intimacy. Howard Shore is a sonic chameleon, and his scores are marked by little more than an extremely high standard of quality, but his electric guitar works here are even more of a cut above, glassy, chilly and, as always with his Cronenberg collabs, perfectly fitting with the images on screen, which are some of the most upsetting of the master's career. Icky stuff.
