Hooptober 4.0 - Watch #4 - Sequels
Let this be a lesson to all aspiring writers- filling your script with jargon and using the word "quantum" too many times doesn't make your movie smart, it just makes it look like it's trying too hard.
Whereas the original Cube maintains its charm by way of snappy, fun dialogue (even if it is totally unrealistic) and minimalist kills, Hypercube decides to up the ante, adding weird conceptual traps like time travel and portals to other universes. Needless to say, it wasn't a great idea. It might have played fine if the script wasn't the clunkiest thing imaginable, but unfortunately, we don't live in that universe.
The worse news, though, is that we don't live in the universe where this movie never got made.
