Painfully predictable script with good direction from Gareth Edwards, as usual. There are a lot of cool ideas here, and this movie wears its influences on its sleeve; Aliens, Blade Runner, Akira, Terminator, etc. The problem is that you don’t care about any of these things happening because every nearly line in the movie is characters just telling each other where they need to go or mentioning how something works so the audience has a vague idea.
