Lee McCoy’s review published on Letterboxd:
Leigh Whannell is a writer/director that completely interests me. With 'Upgrade' he takes a small step outside of the horror genre and borrows the best elements of sci-fi/action (see Terminator, Robocop, and The Matrix).
Logan Marshall Green keeps climbing the "leading man" ladder with his performance as a quadriplegic controlled by a tenacious A.I. known as STEM. I especially enjoyed his back/forth with the STEM.
With top notch action and an interesting premise (although not completely original), Upgrade 'stands' as one of the best of the year.
