The Devil All the Time

The Devil All the Time ★★★★

Less like a film and more like visualizing a good book while reading it, using an overall theme and applying it to sprawling and winding cast of characters and times to really root it down. It's not really saying anything new, religion begetting hypocrisy and violence etc., but the use of location and production value really give it a fitting flavor that suits it nice. Like a novel, it's something you have to hunker down with and mull over, something your casual Netflix user that refers to the actors in belittling ways such as Spiderman and Twilight Boy aren't going to like at fucking all.
