Dusty Lang’s review published on Letterboxd:
I love the Talking Heads, but I will admit that I was skeptical when I saw people calling this one of the greatest films of all time. Turns out they were right because it can’t get better than what I just saw. I always thought that THE LAST WALTZ was the ultimate marriage between live music and film, but I can safely say that it has been dethroned in my personal canon. STOP MAKING SENSE is just perfect across the board from the performances, to the direction and editing. Most of the time when I see a concert film I am just left wishing that I were in the crowd, but the filmmaking is dialed and electric that it becomes hard to imagine experiencing these songs in any other way.
