Darragh Walsh’s review published on Letterboxd:
Like Marianne I too often sit naked by the fire smoking a pipe and then retire to the kitchen to scoff bread, cheese and red wine.
As the kids would say, she just like me fr.
In all seriousness, what an absolute force of a film. Every single detail is finely crafted and honed. It was so overwhelmingly beautiful that I never knew quite where to look. Not to mention the sound design; a softly crackling fire has never sounded better. This will take a few future rewatches to fully appreciate I would imagine.
"How does it feel?"... Don't we all just want to be seen, understood....
"I saw her one last time"....oooff
"Don't regret, remember"....Can't quite remember the last time a film moved me like this did....
