the first act of this film was great, and then it just sort of lost me. it goes to focus on the people that were involved in the massacre, and then the court case, which is fine, it’s supposed to act as a film that covers everything. but i wasn’t ‘connected’ to these people how i should have been ‘connected’ to them. i felt sympathy obviously, but i feel like that’s the film’s excuse for having them skeletons of what i can assume are very interesting real life people, like how everyone in the world is interesting. if you are going to make a film that deals with such a horrific event, give context to these characters, it would make the whole film more emotional. an extra 10-15 minutes at the beginning of this with the characters before they go to the camp or something would have made everything more impactful
