I enjoyed watching this film; seeing all the songs get made was a lot of fun! If I'm honest though it left much to be desired. For me, the biggest problem was that it didn't quite know what to be about. Was is about Freddie? About the whole band? About the epic music of the band? It felt like they tried to make a comprehensive film for the fans instead of zeroing in on one storyline or character. To be fair, I think the film could've worked if all the storylines shared the same themes throughout. There would be one scene of Freddie having a very dark and lonely moment, then it would cut to the studio making a song that didn't really have anything to do with what Freddie was going through. All these emotionally complex themes were introduced, but never resolved in a satisfying way. Regardless, Rami Malek did an incredible job!
