Mr. Tables’s review published on Letterboxd:
Decided to watch this one again as I’m currently wondering if it’s worth paying six bucks to rent the third World of Tomorrow short (it probably is).
I remember watching this years ago during my Hertzfeldt binge and not understanding a single thing about it but still being very intrigued by it. Now I think it’s about so much, about how we all end up saying and thinking the exact same things over and over again as we move through life, how life itself inherently has everything repeat the same tasks over and over again, and how ultimately the meaning we find in this universe is purely up to those who live in it. This is a marvelous short and I was an utter fool to think it wasn’t one of Hertzfeldt’s best works.
