Marvel really has the entire superhero genre distilled into the most efficient formula possible. Every single frame of this movie felt like it was exactly what it needed to be, and nothing else. This isn't to say that I didn't enjoy it, because I very much did. The action is obviously incredible, Tom Holland is easily the best Spider-Man we've had, and the support cast makes the whole movie so much fun. And also just Jake Gyllenhaal in general. However, none of this resulted in any significant effect besides just general enjoyment. This comes back to the Marvel formula, and how they feel crafted to be the most fleetingly enjoyable, lowest common denominator movie, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but isn't extraordinary in my opinion.
