David Haddon’s review published on Letterboxd:
A gothic Lovecraftian nightmare. Eggers embraces some clear influences here in particular Tarkovsky and Kubrick.
Embracing the madness and nihilism of the genre in a way rarely ever seen in film.
Jaw dropping performances from both DaFoe and Pattinson. Perfect use of lighting. Perfect pacing.
This was my most anticipated film of the year, and it may be my favourite of the decade. Well worth the wait.
