  I just rewatched this for the first time in 5 years.  There is just something about this movie I can’t explain. Its over the top performances, its brutal scenes of argument, its horrifying visuals, its exploration of marital disintegration and disbelief in god - there’s just something hypnotic about it. 
  This is a weird comparison to make but this movie feels like if Dostoyevsky wrote horror novels. There is some gold underneath this surface that I can’t quite get to.…

  how do i start to review this?
  it’s obviously not a 5/5 in terms of consistency/quality but i still love it despite all its flaws, as i think most TP fans do. 
  yes season 2 has a major dip in quality (even tho i like a lot of the goofy storylines - like the nadine/mike/ed/norma story), and i’m not even a huge fan of the windom earle stuff, but that doesn’t matter much to me. i still have a great…
