A storm is coming, Frank says. A storm that will swallow the children. And I will deliver them from the kingdom of pain. I will deliver the children back to their doorsteps, and send the monsters back to the underground. I'll send them back to a place where no one else can see them. Except for me. Because I am Donnie Darko.
We watched the director's cut which I'd only seen once like five years ago but shit!!! I'm not even physically capable of forming any coherent thoughts about this movie at this point it's kind of just ingrained into my being like when I die I'm pretty sure my legacy will be a slow-zoom of an old black and white photo of me with jake gyllenhaal in the background whispering "it's grandma death" I just love every second of this movie and I'm so glad Richard Kelly invented cinema in 2001 thank you and goodnight
