What “a strange and exciting spectacle!" Jordan Peele's two previous films were enough to convince me to stop following his cinema. But his third feature movie, NOPE, deserves great praise. Peele has been compared to Hitchcock, but NOPE shows he's a next-gen Carpenter. It's absolutely phenomenal in every way.

On the one hand, ANNETTE believes in cinema as a play, and on the other hand, Leos Carax's movie questions the foundations, illusions, beauties and horrors. Carax uses imagination to project mental and symbolic images; There's something the audience sees, and what's seen can go beyond. ANNETTE is not a theoretical treatise, but an organic work which cannot be reduced to a vision, idea and perception. What makes the film worthwhile is the desire to create vivid and never-before-seen images. ANNETTE is a living organism and not a solid monument and breathes with all the irregularities, anomalies and variety of moods.
