the nesquik scene… we try to clean up after ourselves and keep our worst contained, but daughters will follow into the kitchen, drink from the same bowl. watch intently and sort out what you do & don’t want to be, only to grow up and fear what was there, already inside you.

the best representation of what it feels like to return from something – whatever that may be. i do think maybe we don’t notice that our hearts are always expanding & making room & then it almost feels stretched out when you return to a feeling or place you know. nooks are built and we do our best to keep them occupied, to hear the clatter, to brush against all the sides of our new vessels.

the rarest & most dangerous skill is to convince someone you are giving them everything while giving them absolutely nothing

have not loved two characters this much in... ever? incredible, sleek, fluid, magnetic, etc, etc, etc. corky & violet feel deeply human but something so beyond that too. elemental, in some way. i never feared for them because they felt indestricible the minute they met.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

the more i think about the ending, the more i feel bad for truman. the way he’s entering a world where he expects to finally be free and in charge of his own destiny, but is actually entering an environment where everyone knows him & has watched him his whole life, and will treat him differently based on what they have learned to expect of him.
