EDIT 09/09/2019: So it premiered at TIFF. I guess I can finally speak about it? I fucking loved it. And yes I understand some will think its offensive and I wont try to argue that but I will say don't let the premise make you not want to watch it. One of those cases of don't judge a book by its cover because this is so much more than a holocaust comedy. There's a reason Hitler looks like Taika... theres a reason why he acts weird and dumb. Because its seen though the eyes of a kid who knows no better but will change when he's exposed to what he was thought to know as "enemies". Yes, its funny but its also very sweet and heart warming. Thomasin Mckenzie steals the movie IMO. Truly the MVP. That amazing performance in Leave no trace wasn't a fluke. We got a star right here and I cant wait to see her become the big star she deserves to be. Scarlett was amazing too IMO. One of her best performances and provides an emotional arc to the movie. The kid is also a revelation... the rest of the ensemble is ok but not as good as those 3. Taika is funny as well.

Behind the absurd and possibly offensive premise(for many and I understand) there's a great message here. One that we need in today's society living in the era of Trump. Jojo Rabbit is definitely of the best movies I've seen this year and I cant wait to watch it again. Give it a chance guys don't just write it off.
