If you ever need to recommend me a film, just recommend me the opposite of this one.
This was just not for me. Despite what the film wants you to think with all the flashing lights, hypnotic imagery, and imposing sound, this one is pretty dull. I didn’t find the scenes to fit together well, the tone was inconsistent, and it was just a forgettable experience altogether.
I really like the concept, but I really hate the execution.

This was actually incredible? Genuinely, and I’m not exaggerating, the best Dreamworks effort I’ve seen. Amazing and striking animation, flawless voice work, compelling characters, and an engaging story. The lessons to be learned along the way were timely and honest-feeling. Pretty neat ending as well. 😉

I’m trying to be a bit more objective with my ratings over there.
I vehemently disagree with the less-than-three star average rating on this one. For the most part, this was fantastic! I’m really trying to decide if I even like severe anxiety-inducing cinema or not. My palms were certainly sweating throughout the entire runtime.
