John Erler’s review published on Letterboxd:
I can't think of a movie that harnesses the "meta" trend of the 90's better than Scream. A movie about movies. So many self-reflexive touches that really work. Plus it's scary and funny and there's even a nice anti-patriarchy message that creeps up on you. An amazing script, deftly directed, well-acted. It's a sign of a great film when even the weakest cast members come off strong (looking at you Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy). Feels fresh 20 years later.
