this movie is like the last five years of intra-left twitter discourse condensed to 90 minutes. and i feel like i probably got more out of this movie than the last five years of that discourse.
i feel sorry for anyone who still thinks 25+ years later that this is a bad movie, or a "so bad it's good" movie - it's very, very far from either. maybe it's time to stop defining yourself by the critical consensus of puritanical empty-headed 90's male critics who mostly just suck at the teat of Hollywood. the fact that this movie isn't viewed as just as sharp a satire as Robocop or Starship Troopers, when it's actually even better…
