Occasionally stupid but fundamentally mesmerising and deeply sad, I think.
Disorganised highlights:
- the music when they go glam-rock
- Marion Cotillard’s eyes are her greatest asset
- Adam Driver and Simon Helberg are just so well-matched. All-timer performances of insecurity.
The whole thing made me really nervous about making and nurturing art out of love and a lack thereof, and it then scared me that there might be no other way to do it
