Been off the letterboxd for a while, but I had to chime in on this one. It’s like if The Big Kahuna was about actual interesting people who weren’t white. Dramatized as hell, but after the first act we get the setup out of the way and focus in on capturing conversations that are still relevant. Leslie Odom Jr. and whatshisface from the High Fidelity show are standouts here. Regina King did a good ass job directing this joint. It’s my birthday. Have a good day.

A perfect example of a script well researched, where every legal procedural detail is paid attention to and the established characters’ personalities have consequences. Waited wayyy too long to watch this.
Marisa Tomei is unmatched. Her feet are visible only briefly.

There’s a scene where Florence Pugh says she has the best feet in the family. That’s a bold claim, and I was waiting for all four girls to whip em out and compare feet but that never happened.

I’ve been thinking about this for the last two days. This movie stressed me out more than anything else this year. Sandler plays a pathetic asshole who deserves every punch he gets for his decisions, and you don’t want him to be “all right” by the end so much as you just want him to resolve his debts so you can take a breath. Bring your inhaler.
