I can't imagine being a kid and watching this in 1938. It must have been like the first time I saw a Jackie Chan flick. Basil Rathbone is in classic villain mode. Errol Flynn cracks wise when he's not swinging from trees or sword fighting is super fast motion. Palace intrigue, romance, drunken tomfoolery. This movie has it all and in glorious technicolor to boot.
