Tenet ★★★

Finally saw it, y’all weren’t kidding with the audio mix, had to turn on subtitles. Really appreciate a lot of what Nolan went for here. I can go along for the ride and ignore creaky time travel mechanics, and nothing is more boring than pointing out plot holes when the premise allows for exhilarating and original cinema. I get lost when the film forces the story to turn on a relationship between two characters that it hasn’t established in any way, Nolan needed the guts to strip Protagonist’s perfunctory and unearned “save the girl” tropes and run with the ruthless pragmatism he otherwise displays.
