Well somehow, by some evil trick, I’ve got 1,000 followers around here now! That’s awfully nice of y'all, considering I -
1) often yell at you for your movie taste
2) use a fake name from Almost Famous and am not, in fact, the soft VSCO girl I should be
3) make lists
4) love this particular movie unironically!
I really do enjoy this app. It’s the one corner of social media where my soul knows mostly (mostly) peace. And I even have like a dozen friends here who have migrated over to IG and become genuine, actual IRL friends of mine and I think that’s very cute and nice!!
I want to say something, because I see the self-deprecating lines in lots of your bios all the time: I think all of your views and thoughts on movies are valuable and interesting. I wouldn’t follow you if I didn’t think you had excellent things to share about the movies you watch. So if you’ve ever thought to yourself, “My taste is trash” or “No one cares what I think” or “I am not good at reviewing movies” - hard disagree from me on all counts, m’loves!!! 💕💕💕💕
Thank you all for following me, and I promise I will always keep my “following” and “followers” counts relatively close to each other. (no shade to the absolute sociopaths who have like 20,000 followers and follow 80 people !!!) (seriously, who the fuck only knows or follows 80 people???) (ok, I know some of them were beta testers whose follower counts blew up when the app went public and it wasn’t their fault but still, they could follow some of those people back instead of being elitists, but whatever…)
