Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once ★★★½

it’s hard not to be contrarian when it seems like every single person who’s seen this is falling to their knees with praise. my film pet peeve is when themes are screamed at audiences instead of shown and i was really disappointed to feel that at times. everything everywhere all at once is imperfect, overlong and often times childish but it’s also a movie that’s extremely kind. Ke Huy Quan is responsible for the most heartfelt and memorable scenes- Evelyn and Waymond’s relationship in the third act shines as a redeeming factor for the entire film whereas the mother daughter plot didn’t really work for me. you can find meaning anywhere but that doesn’t make it less valuable. hail bagel
