Similar to Saulnier in that way that Gosling's debut was akin to Refn. Although both not as accomplished as their mentors, both films are still worthwhile pieces of film that show potential. This had hilarious scenes and gross out scenes. Filmed well with a great amount of tension when it was needed, ala Saulnier. His muse, Macon Blair is one to keep an eye both in front of and behind the camera.
