Once the mystique of Elisabeth Moss doing whatever the fuck she was doing in this movie passed, all I was left with was a character I didn’t really care about metaphorically smearing her shit all over the walls and the enablers around her being really terrible baby sitters about it. Exhausting rather than engaging. I did love the final scene before the gig (scene 6 of 7?) for its tension but by that time it was too little too late for me. I really enjoyed the cinematography and the pacing for a 2+ hour movie was pretty insane. Whomever did this sound design fucking killed it felt like I was trapped in a speaker the whole film. Alex Ross Perry is still a filmmaker I really admire and wanna see more from, but I left the theater pretty indifferent to Her Smell.
