wow this could have very easily been a 5 star movie to me. it had everything I like: stunning lighting and cinematography, natalie wood, it’s a musical, dance numbers, love, betrayal, drama, etc.
they just had to literally smother BLACK foundation on every white person who was playing a puerto rican didn’t they? I get the times were different and so maybe all I want is a remake. but it feels so wrong and fake and gross when white people try to play as other ethnicities. i’m not even trying to play social justice warrior, it literally was so distracting and it looked BAD. whoever played anita like damn girl they did her so dirty. maybe she did herself dirty for accepting the role idk but the cake on her face never even matched any other part of her body.
