The pinnacle of movie musicals - seems like cheating to include in the marathon, but it’s a blind-spot for Ellie. I think she fell in love with me again after watching “Make ‘em Laugh” and thinking that I could do even one iota of that masterpiece.

Deserves a re-watch in one sitting, as watching over three nights is not ideal. However, the fact that it gripped me with each sectional viewing shows its power. Each of the performances is so delicate but strong in its peacefulness. Lots of tears from the Matsumiya score!
