I'm jealous of how good this movie is. It's not my favorite Miyazaki film, but that just comes down to personal preference. The directing, characters, and especially the animation are masterclass tier. There's a reason this film is so beloved.
Story time: I remember the first time I ever watched this film was during Miyazaki month on toonami back in 2005 or so. At the time, I got in a lot of trouble with my parents for something really stupid and innocuous, and I was really upset about it, but this film helped sooth my anxiety and wisped me into a world I've never seen before. It really was a magical experience.
This is one of those movies where you get a warm, comfy feeling whenever you watch it. I recommend it to literally anyone.
